With fresh cherries.
Only fresh and whole fruits are used in the making of Mort Subite Kriek.
It is estimated that approximately one kilo of fresh cherries is used for the production of 5lt of Kriek beer. These cherries are cultivated through a special process so that the product fulfils the highest organic standards. Right after the harvest, at about the end of July, the cherries are placed in oak barrels which contain Geuze beer and are left there for at least 5 months.
The whole cherries create an almond like dryness when the fermentation process reaches the seed.
